SPCA Tampa Bay is the only non-profit animal welfare organization in Pinellas County that operates an open-admission animal shelter and veterinarian center. Their Largo shelter cares for about 7,500 animals relinquished by their owners each year, as well as injured wildlife.

Dogs, cats, pocket pets, exotic animals, and livestock such as goats and pigs are all cared for by the SPCA Tampa Bay. While at our shelter, animals receive immunizations, medical attention, enrichment, and loving care. The adoptions team and volunteers work hard to match families with animals that are a good match for their home, lifestyle, and personalities. Every animal, regardless of breed or size, is treated with compassion.

Heidi’s Legacy Dog Rescue

Heidi’s Legacy Dog Rescue

Heidi’s Legacy, established in 2002, is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) charitable organization operated completely by volunteers in the Tampa Bay Area. Its purpose is to rescue as many lives as possible so that they can enrich the lives of their new adoptive families.

Due to pet overpopulation and a shortage of shelter capacity, millions of animals are abandoned and must be euthanized in the United States each year. Heidi’s Legacy has rescued, fostered, spayed/neutered, and placed numerous companion animals since its start, saving them from a heartless and unnecessary death.
